What to expect

Sunday Morning

Our Sunday morning services are informal but structured.  On the last Sunday in the month (except December) the service is in a more contemporary style (including on some occasions café-style) under the overall title ReFresh.

 Leadership of Worship

Normally our Minister leads many of our services.  However the Minister is often leading services at other churches in the Winchester Eastleigh and Romsey Circuit.  On these occasions the services at Wesley are led by Local Preachers from across the Circuit (including from Wesley) and occasionally by Worship Leaders (who do not preach).

We sing a mixture of traditional and more modern hymns and songs.  These are accompanied by organ and/or piano.  A music group occasionally contributes to the services.

The church has a multimedia installation and songs and other material, e.g. words, pictures and video clips, are put on the screen at almost all of our morning services.  The facility is also used at evening services at festivals and on some other occasions.  However hymn books (Singing the Faith) are used at other services and are always available.

Faith Sharing Time

It is our practice to include in the service a short session during which the congregation may hear news from members of the church family who witness to their recent faith experiences.  Some items are the basis for prayer.

Welcome to All

Following the morning service everybody is invited to go into the hall (in the same building) for coffee, tea, biscuits and conversation.  This provides a good opportunity to meet any visitors to the church and to welcome them.

Sunday Evening

Our evening service is a smaller, more intimate gathering.  The style is similar to the morning service.  Some evening services of Holy Communion include prayer for Healing and Wholeness.
